Participate in sprints of an established SCRUM team, leveraging your expertise in cloud-based solutions (Ruby on Rails and React) Drive the development of cutting-edge backend systems and software architectures and bring in your own ideas and inspiration Design and develop REST APIs to enhance communication and user experiences Stay updated on emerging technologies and seamlessly integrate them into our platform Promote a culture of quality through automated software tests (TDD/BDD) Consult with stakeholders in our IoT ecosystem and provide documentation What do we expect from you? Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (from ETH, University, or a University of Applied Sciences) Experience: Several years of experience in web development and web architecture. Solid knowledge of Ruby on Rails is required. Previous experience in React is highly desirable. Technical Skills: Familiarity with the following technologies is beneficial: Databases: PostgreSQL, Kafka, InfluxDB, and other time series databases Cloud Services: AWS Lambda Containerization: Docker Messaging Protocols: MQTT, HART, Profibus, Modbus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP Quality-related tools: Sentry, New Relic, ELK-stack SaaS Platform Operation: Experience in operating a SaaS platform and its services, including DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and maintaining clean code and security Kubernetes: Familiarity with Kubernetes and related toolchains is a plus Agile Methodology: Strong understanding of software development methodologies in an agile context (Scrum) IoT and Industry 4.0: Basic knowledge of IoT and/or Industry 4.0 concepts is advantageous Empathy and Teamwork: We value individuals who demonstrate high empathy and work effectively in a team Open and Respectful Communication: Clear and respectful communication is essential for collaboration
